I'm very disappointed in you, Harry.

I think we can agree that Opening Ceremony is far too cool for its own good. It's quite famous and stocks awesome things like this Toga (!!!) yellow pleated skirt and this khaki jacket (on sale!!).
Awesome, yes? Yes. They also stock the blogger favorite, the Dr. Marten Darcie boot . . . for $200. Whaaaaaaaaaaat?!? This angers me. I try not to post negatively but GAWD. Too big for your boots, much? (Haha. Ha.)
Thank goodness for Zappos, which stocks them for $125. Not only that, but they stock them in plain black as well as patent and red. I want the patent ones so much! Methings they'd be the perfect heeled ankle boot.
And about the post title:
Go to 3:28 . Just replace "Harry" with "Opening Ceremony".

Number 5: Swingin' 20s/Art Deco

That is, number 5 from this list. (Tell me, readers: do you notice anything new? Not like that question totally gave away my addition, but still.) Basically just a picture fest. (Not that this blog isn't just one big boring picture fest, but humor me).
And I do realize that art deco is far too vast a subject to cover in one post; expect many more art deco posts.

I eat hype for breakfast

I saw Grey Gardens a few days ago and it was strange and strangely moving, but not nearly as much as I thought it would be. I don't know what I expected, to be honest, but it has gotten a lot of hype. I don't get it. Perhaps this has to do with the fact that I paused it in the middle for a few days and practically fell asleep at the very end. However, I did hear the director telling Little Edie about that lady who saw it, what was it, 170 times? Wow. It was certainly beautiful and a great portrait, but it didn't live up to the hype. However, I feel obligated to put in some pictures.
I was fascinated by Little Edie's headscarves. I love wearing headscarves but - this is very, very touchy - I always feel that all my peers at school will be wondering, "Did she convert to Islam?" and I don't want to have any religious connotations around my person. I hope that makes sense and isn't offensive. Of course, someone, somewhere, is always ready to be offended but I think you know what I mean.
You know what else got a lot of hype? Where the Wild Things Are. It was so melancholy, I could hardly stand watching it. The WWTA x Opening Ceremony line was much cheerier.
Take, for example, this awesome headband.
Both these dresses are awesome and would be even more awesome sitting in my closet.
Is it just me or is does this skirt actually seem quite versatile? Hopefully its warm as well. I prefer the clothing line to the movie, I must say.

Halloween

I was going to be a goat but I was making my mask out of some fake black fur and plain plastic black mask and superglue. I glued the fur to the mask, super. I waited a few seconds for the glue to dry. I put on the mask and promptly started dying as the poisonous fumes from the mask started stinging my eyes and nose.

Goat costume = Epic Fail.
So I went as a dead bride instead. Original, I know.

MUST attempt a DIY

You guys have to hold me to it. (photo)(notlikeyoucouldn'tguess)

Stellar Stella

Hey, the lamest pun known to man is better than something utilitarian chic like "Stella McCartney for GapKids", right? I mean, what's the fun in that? Ahem.

I love the muted colors of these tights. I could probably fit into the biggest size.
I could probably also fit into boys XXL. I'm digging the trench and the leopard sweater. I really want to try both on. Basically, most of the line is something Tommy would wear, which, of course, is a good thing. I also have a feeling she might wear this sweater from Crewcuts.

Luella Fall 2008 Ready-to-Wear
Luella Fall/Winter 2008/9 - I want to dress like this tomorrow, complete with crimped and beribboned hair.

Could it be . . . an outfit post?!?!

I actually wore this in September. But let's pretend I wore it a few days ago. I've forgotten any commentary I could possibly write. I mean, the outfit thought process is pretty self-explanatory.

Since these pictures were taken, the wall collage has expanded a lot.

I've alloted myself five minutes to write this post

It's a shame that I have to write about Hilary Laing in such a terrible, smooshed manner, but it is a school night, after all, and I've been wanting to write about her for a while and I figured I might as well do it now. (Because to be honest, no designer I write about ever gets the credit they're due.) ANYWAYS Hilary Laing's designs are super playful and covetable. And quite reasonably priced as well!
